Honoring Women's History:

Viya, the premier telecommunications provider in the US Virgin Islands, led by the trailblazing, Caribbean woman Geraldine Pitt, celebrates Women’s History Month.

CEO Pitt stated, “As Women’s History Month is being commemorated, Viya aligns with the International Women’s Day theme, “Digitall: Innovation and Technology for gender equality”. As the first woman to lead the premier communications and technology solutions provider in the USVI, I am proud to represent and be supported by other strong women on my team, who are daring greatly and embracing careers in technology.”

While women have always been leaders and educators in this community, the presence of women in technology roles has always been the modus operandi at Viya. Viya is leading the VI in gender equality in the technology space, which is still male-dominated. As one of the largest employers in the Territory, Viya can take pride in the fact that approximately 40% of our workforce are women and 40% of our management team are women.

At Viya, women are regularly recruited to and promoted from within the talented ranks, and they are critical decision-makers, who are actively participating in reshaping the organization to be the most competitive provider of connectivity in the USVI. Moreover, Viya’s support for gender equality also extends to its extensive community support for innovation and women’s initiatives from the classroom to the executive board room.
